Unconditional love is…

Unconditional love is like the love a writer has for their characters. One character might be a villain, or a rude asshole, but they love them anyway, since they enjoy their creation. They are essential pieces in great storytelling.
This is why people usually only experience this unconditional love when they manage to connect to the divine. Because they’re totally not used to it due to lack of exposure, since so few people practice it. But the divine is all about enjoying its creation in its totality. It does nothing but love unconditionally, and that is enough to bring things into existence. It doesn’t play favorites; That’s why anything can happen.

Man says: “Why is this allowed to happen?”
God says: “Why not?”
Man says: “People are suffering.”
God says: “How could it be any other way?”
Man says: “No suffering. Everybody happy.”
God says: “You will get there. Why so impatient?”
Man says: “I don’t want to suffer anymore.”
God says: “Then I cannot allow you to happen.”

Suffering ends when you realize you are one with God. But that can only happen if you accept your separation from God.
Which means loving life unconditionally.
You accept the separation and it allows you to do that, and doing that confirms the unity.

The Cruel God Fallacy

Some people say things like: How can God allow such horrific suffering? I thought he is loving.

Some people greatly enjoy watching/reading Game of Thrones, or any other kind of great drama, with death and emotional agony and all that.
Do people say how the creators are so cruel and condemn them? No. People enjoy drama. Because it touches them emotionally. Pleasantly and unpleasantly. Feeling is the key; it is favored. It makes people relate. The writers themselves might be very emotionally attached to their works. And there the big picture is what matters. They love the whole thing and don’t (necessarily) play favorites.

Now how can you (being a part of God’s creation) imply that God has any different relationship with his creation? He, too, appreciates a good show/story, exploration of an experience. And thus life is enriched with emotions, without which life would literally feel dead.
And you cannot have one pole without the other. Even if you could, then the exploration would not be perfect. The exploration of infinite possibilities. Because that is the positive message in the fact that anything can exist, no matter how horrible: It demonstrates those infinite possibilities actively at work. Anything could happen. And when you embrace that, it opens your heart, and when you open your heart to it, you can enjoy it.
That’s the irony of profound wisdom: Bad stuff will happen till the end of time, but if you don’t conditionalize the good stuff based on the bad stuff, then the latter loses power over you. This is a lesson that cannot be understood. It can only be experienced, felt, internalized. Don’t expect it to be quick or easy. It just happens when you move towards it. Which means not subjecting it to conditions, because that’s a good way to slow it down. That’s not at all what love is about.
If you manage to love the whole work of art, you will have an understanding with the creator. And that is something, haha.

This is, as all paths of overcoming suffering, about releasing the mind’s control.
Love will always be your loyal ally, and fear will always be your fierce enemy. Do your best not to collude with the enemy. You have the absolutely most powerful ally at your disposal.
But don’t worry, there is no dead end. When fear really gets you, it will make love become so much more worth giving attention.

Scold people for doing bad things if you like, but scolding God seems silly.
Who do you think you are? 😉

Don’t torture yourself.

Law of nature my ass

Sacrifices have been made over the course of millions of years. Our species has competitively extinguished life in order to get to where it is now. I would say it is time to afford ourselves some luxury of being more than just followers of survival-of-the-fittest.
Nature isn’t the end of all wisdom. Nature is a harsh mistress. Nature is boot camp. While it can be wise to learn from nature, nature works based on energy-conservation, and that is part of survival-of-the-fittest. It is base-materialism. Anything not following that pattern is of higher origin (one might say of divine origin). That is where the journey is going. Humankind has more and better means to move in either direction. We should not disgrace and dishonor all the efforts being made by our evolutionary ancestors and the lives having been traded for our own benefit by still acting as if all that hadn’t happened. Because otherwise all that passed time would be meaningless. Meaning enriches life. By giving meaning, we are using and nourishing our divine side, which has the power of not being purely reactionary and materialist and treating life like a zero-sum game, but creating something out of nothing; bringing new into this world.

Sadly, people of great influence who live lower modes of life can shape the world in a way that makes it harder for others to ascend to higher modes, and while responsibility rests with everybody, there are quantifiable differences. Just as with humankind’s evolutionary advantage over other species, those who attained great sustenance and means within our species should realize that and afford the luxury of acting more based on our divine gifts. Acting based on fear can either bring about a state where you don’t have to be afraid anymore, or it becomes a self-purpose, when you are weak and lose control, and become more and more afraid the more you try to bring about that state where you shouldn’t need to be afraid anymore.
